Position Overview:

The MRI Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Under the guidance of the MRI Team Leader and/or radiologists, this position is responsible for performing a variety of MRI procedures independently, ensuring optimal image quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct MRI examinations in compliance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Facilitate patient self-management and support behavioral health initiatives.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and manage patient populations effectively.
Educational Requirements:
  • Mandatory: Completion of an ARRT accredited radiologic technology program.
Certifications:
  • Mandatory:
  • ARRT (R) Certification, adhering to continuing education requirements.
  • BLS certification must be obtained prior to assignment and maintained thereafter.
  • Completion of 4 hours of online education on Total Ankle, Hip, and Knee Replacement is required.
  • Preferred:
  • ARRT (MR) Certification.
Experience Requirements:
  • Mandatory:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in MRI.
  • Clinical experience in a medical or hospital setting.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.
  • Prior MRI experience or comprehensive on-the-job training is necessary before assuming on-call responsibilities.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in hospital or physician office environments.

The MRI Imaging Specialist is tasked with performing MRI procedures while ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic images. Knowledge of patient care protocols and MRI examination techniques is essential. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and effectively interpret patient data, demonstrating an understanding of developmental principles across various age groups. Assessing patient needs based on age-specific criteria is vital to the success of this position.
