Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at GPAC. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators, concrete pumps, and foundation drilling rigs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Input equipment repairs into work orders and related software tools.
  • Lead by example in terms of safety, work ethic, and effective communication with field employees.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics to improve internal processes and share knowledge.
  • Servicing of equipment on various job sites.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems independently on off-site projects.
  • Follow and uphold all required safety rules and regulations.
  • Recognize and correct safety hazards.
  • Diagnose and make repairs related to welding and cutting.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and complete work orders on equipment in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • High level of understanding in diesel, hydraulics, and electrical applications.
  • Ability to work with diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic work.
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment: cranes, excavators, concrete pumps, foundation drilling rigs.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
