About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Austin. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the interoperative phase of patient care, assisting the surgical team in ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discuss special needs with the surgeon before surgery and prepare the operative site for aseptic cleaning and patient clipping.
  • Prepare and maintain the instrument table(s) in an organized manner, ensuring the availability and proper functioning of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Set up the operating room according to surgical procedure schedules, arranging sterile setup of instrument table supplies and equipment required for specific procedures.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies during surgical procedures.
  • Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, instruments, and miscellaneous items, according to established policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team staff, passing sterile supplies and equipment to surgeons and assistants during procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
