Job Overview

Bright Light Medical Imaging is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care and service.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and families with a warm and welcoming smile, providing a positive first impression of our facility.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with patient check-in, maintaining accurate records and processing payments in a secure and confidential environment.
  • Perform clerical account processing, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and protecting patient information.
  • Schedule and confirm clinical appointments using our medical records platform, Medics Premier.
  • Ensure orders are correctly scheduled, including name, exam type, referring provider, and authorization requests.
  • Collaborate with internal departmental teams to provide administrative support and ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Notify technologists of appointment arrivals and assist with patient flow.
  • Comprehend standard insurance protocols for referrals, authorizations, co-payments, and deductibles.
  • Obtain authorization for scheduled services, providing required clinical documents if necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Relevant prior experience in a medical or office setting
  • Prior data entry and word processing experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge is a plus
