Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated ServiceNow Security Automation Engineer to join our Security Automation team at Northwestern Mutual. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining a sustainable security automation pipeline to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy of our detection and response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical development requirements and integrate ServiceNow security modules with third-party tools and APIs used by Cybersecurity teams.
  • Configure ServiceNow and implement best practices in coding and design as per ServiceNow standards.
  • Collaborate with our ServiceNow Platform SRE team to ensure quality and stability of integrations.
  • Perform checkouts during ServiceNow module and platform upgrades.
  • Identify and automate workflows/processes related to security events through ServiceNow or SOAR playbooks.
  • Enhance the organization's case management system to decrease response times, increase effectiveness, and streamline security operations.
  • Design, engineer, deploy, and maintain custom automation tools (primarily in Python and PowerShell).

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of professional experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, including the creation, configuration, and customization of ServiceNow products such as ITSM, ITOM, SecOps.
  • Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform, modules, data model, tables, and capabilities.
  • Experience developing/administering on a ServiceNow Platform, including Workflows, Flows, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Catalog Items & Record Producers, Groups, Roles, Tables.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, AJAX, and Python.
  • Relational database expertise with enterprise software systems (e.g., Postgres, MS SQL).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
