Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Fitter

At Mircom Group of Companies, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in various commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Coordinate and install overhead sprinkler systems, including steel and CPVC piping, fire pumps, standpipes, hose systems, underground pipe, hydrants, pits, and underground control valves.
  • Participate in weekly job site safety meetings to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Order materials, manage deliveries and backorders, resolve changes in scope or discrepancies, monitor labor costs, and coordinate equipment rental.
  • Travel to local job sites as required.
  • Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, and walking for the majority of the workday.

Requirements and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Service or Installation Technician in the Fire Sprinkler industry.
  • NICET I/II certification or equivalent experience.
  • Osha certification, apprentice certifications, or other trade qualifications are an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes (NFPA).
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.
