Job Summary

The Payment Operations Manager is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Payment Operations department. This position ensures the efficient and accurate processing of payments, compliance with relevant regulations, and the continuous improvement of payment systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Payment Operations team, ensuring that all team members are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Payment Processing: Ensure that all electronic payments (ACH, Wire, Card services) are processed accurately and timely, meeting the highest standards of accuracy and security.
  • Workflow Management: Monitor and manage payment processing workflows and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to resolve friction points.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Payment Operations Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant payment regulations and standards, implementing and maintaining robust risk management processes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance payment systems and processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance payment systems, and serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding payment processing issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in payment processing or financial operations, with 5+ years in leadership in electronic payments.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications preferred (e.g. Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP)).
  • Skills: Strong understanding of payment processing systems and regulations, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to influence key partners and executive stakeholders, strong communication and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payment processing software.
