Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our process engineers, manufacturing planning, facilities/maintenance, and general safety/environmental strategy implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and supervising the activities of the manufacturing process engineering function for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and validation of new production processes and the upgrade of existing production processes.
  • Work with site and organizational staff to plan and design methods to maintain, improve or enhance existing manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure effective transition into production and collaboration with other manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure all new products are producible.
  • Develop and recommend revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production standard operating procedures.
  • Manage and monitor manufacturing engineering budget and expenses.
  • Develop narratives for administrative and technical proposals regarding various manufacturing activities and capabilities.
  • Provide recommendations regarding manufacturing personnel training and equipment requirements.
Requirements
  • Excellent Health, Safety, Environmental and Facilities leadership skills.
  • Experience in using ERP, preventative maintenance/calibration, shelf life, and OSHA compliance tracking systems.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill set of Lean Manufacturing philosophies and implementation.
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams with smart/digital factory initiatives.
  • Mechanical measurement and instrumentation skills.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling skills.
  • Production process development/line balancing and layout implementation.
  • Analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, CAD, Solid works, etc.).
  • Production tooling and fixturing development and management.
  • Fundamental understanding of manual and computerized machining processes.
  • Leadership and mentoring, and employee assessment/development skills.
  • Ability to listen to and influence peer group and department team members to build and lead an effective and collaborative work culture.
  • Ability to handle multiple programs and tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
