HR Generalist Job Description

The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in addressing employee relations issues, developing and implementing training programs, assessing compensation, and providing administrative HR support.

This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director and is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, local, state, and government regulations.

The HR Generalist will:

  • Answer employees' questions relating to policies and procedures
  • Support management in addressing employee relations needs
  • Partner with management team in developing and implementing team member orientation programs
  • Assist HR team with performance management process, salary planning, and preparation of job descriptions
  • Conduct analysis of local labor market to determine appropriate pay levels
  • Complete employee personnel changes and conduct exit interviews
  • Utilize HRIS and payroll systems to respond to management reporting requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in HR, and strong employee relations experience. HRCI Certified Professional (PHR), Senior Professional (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification is preferred. Experience with Workday is also a plus.
