Analytical Chemist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemist 1 to join our Laboratory Services team at the State of Oregon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex chemical analyses and providing technical support to our inspection and service programs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex chemical analyses of food, fertilizers, and agricultural products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Operate and maintain complex analytical instrumentation, including gas, ion, and liquid chromatographs, and atomic absorption spectrophotometers.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve analytical issues and improve laboratory processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in analytical techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on analytical chemistry.
- Strong understanding of chemical principles and analytical techniques.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
