Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemist 2 to join our Laboratory Services team in Wilsonville, Oregon. As an Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for analyzing cannabis and cannabis products for potency, heavy metals, residual solvents, pesticides, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze cannabis and cannabis products using various techniques, including gas and liquid chromatography with various detectors.
  • Prepare and extract samples for analysis.
  • Digest and analyze samples for heavy metals using ICP-MS.
  • Assemble data packets for peer review.
  • Perform routine maintenance of instrumentation for efficient operations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with CRL Chem 3 on technical problems, difficult matrices, new analyzes, interference, etc.
  • Maintain all relevant records and documentation.
  • Author and review technical documents, such as SOPs and work instructions.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience independently performing analytical chemistry procedures, including designing, developing, and implementing analytical methods and procedures, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
  • OR Three additional years of pertinent experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in analytical laboratory procedures, techniques, and scientific methods of measurement.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and quality control guidelines related to testing and research, including cGMP, ISO/IEC 17025, and TNI.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ethical and sound judgment.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes challenging environment.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to perform strategic prioritization.
  • Strong organizational skills.
