JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for delivering direct care, training, and assistance in various aspects of daily living, self-care, leisure activities, developmental training, and vocational support while ensuring the protection of consumer rights.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE:

A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma is preferred, or equivalent experience. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure the comfort and safety of consumers while addressing their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs.

2. Engage with consumers in a supportive and therapeutic manner, utilizing effective techniques to reinforce positive behaviors.

3. Provide transportation and assist consumers in integrating into the community by accompanying them to chosen social activities.

4. Perform general housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, and laundry tasks.

5. Complete assigned cleaning duties and general maintenance regularly to maintain a tidy environment.

6. Participate in all required ongoing training programs and attend mandatory staff meetings.

7. Execute all duties as assigned by the supervisor.
