Material Logistics Specialist

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse at Trojan Battery Company. This position is responsible for locating materials on shelves, unloading products from trucks, and ensuring they are stored correctly. Additionally, the Material Handler prepares items for shipment by wrapping and organizing them appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct activities in alignment with International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 while ensuring a safe working environment.
- Facilitate the timely and efficient movement of materials to and from the production line to support an effective manufacturing process.
- Ensure accurate tracking of material movement and inventory adjustments.
- Operate machinery and perform minor adjustments or setups as needed.
- Utilize RF scanners to maintain precise inventory transfers between the warehouse and manufacturing areas, documenting the number of units handled during each shift.
- Complete reports or inspection sheets as directed.
- Stock, move, arrange, and rotate items following operational guidelines, adhering to FIFO policies.
- Fill out necessary forms related to stock descriptions, quantities, units of measure, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Demonstrate the ability to use hand and power tools, including hammers, cutting saws, and nail guns.
- Identify various products and affix identifying tags or labels to materials, or mark information on pallets.
- Successfully complete power equipment certification.
- Follow and maintain lead activities and 5S principles.
- Stage multiple orders for shipment based on appropriate loading patterns, weight distribution, and shipping methods.
- Coordinate, process, and ship hazardous waste and scrap in compliance with regulatory standards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
