Job Summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a skilled Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our eye clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient flow through the eye clinic, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
  • Perform comprehensive intake examinations, including collection and documentation of patient health and eye history, visual acuity testing, and preparation of patients for exams and procedures.
  • Inventory, clean, and maintain ophthalmic supplies, equipment, and exam rooms to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for technical and clinical activities.
  • Assist fellow staff and physicians with daily tasks and provide support as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current International Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (iJCAHPO) certification as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days.
