Position Overview:

The role of a Pacific Ag Truck Driver involves the safe transportation of baled agricultural products to clients while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Effective communication with dispatch and loading personnel is crucial for ensuring timely and secure deliveries. Drivers are required to accurately complete all necessary documentation, including logs, bills of lading, weight tickets, timesheets, and inspection reports.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Aim for zero accidents during operations.
  • Meet or exceed weekly delivery targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of Bills of Lading and Weight Tickets.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards and provide accurate information to management.

Essential Functions:
  • Complete logs accurately and on time.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of trucks and trailers to ensure optimal operating conditions.
  • Notify maintenance personnel immediately of any repair needs.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch and loading teams.
  • Exhibit professional conduct with clients, growers, and fellow drivers.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in stack yards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Possession of a Class A CDL with doubles endorsement and a current medical certification.
  • Clean driving record and insurable status.
  • A minimum of two years of driving experience, preferably with agricultural products.
  • Ability to follow dispatch instructions and navigate using maps.
  • Strong communication skills via radio and phone.
  • Attention to detail and initiative in tasks.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in Spanish are advantageous.
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with start times and additional shifts.
  • Capability to secure loads in compliance with safety standards.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant grasping and repetitive motions involved in driving.
  • Regular climbing of stairs and occasional ladder use.
  • Frequent walking and standing, with occasional bending and kneeling.
  • Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions and alarms.
  • Consistent visual acuity for close, distant, and color vision.

Work Schedule:

Typically Monday through Friday during the day, with weekend and holiday availability as needed based on operational demands. Expect to work over 40 hours per week.
