**Variety Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative I to join our team.**
Key Responsibilities:- Process patient information through dental and medical software systems, including payments and insurance verification.
- Handle daily office duties, such as reviewing treatment plans, confirming appointments, and answering incoming calls.
- Receive patients at the reception window, obtain required information, and update patient records.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, schedule appointments, and monitor the schedule for maximum provider utilization.
- Answer calls, remind patients of upcoming appointments, and brief patients about their benefits.
- Post charges and payments, balance daily transactions, and maintain a clean and organized waiting area.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and Variety Care's privacy policy and procedure.
- Provide backup coverage for the Front Office Telephone Operator and support Variety Care's accreditation as a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a competency test.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Legible handwriting and basic math skills.
- Experience in data entry, keyboarding, and customer service.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and sit for long periods.
- Basic knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Experience communicating with patients and staff.
