Job Summary

**Variety Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative I to join our team.**

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process patient information through dental and medical software systems, including payments and insurance verification.
  • Handle daily office duties, such as reviewing treatment plans, confirming appointments, and answering incoming calls.
  • Receive patients at the reception window, obtain required information, and update patient records.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, schedule appointments, and monitor the schedule for maximum provider utilization.
  • Answer calls, remind patients of upcoming appointments, and brief patients about their benefits.
  • Post charges and payments, balance daily transactions, and maintain a clean and organized waiting area.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and Variety Care's privacy policy and procedure.
  • Provide backup coverage for the Front Office Telephone Operator and support Variety Care's accreditation as a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a competency test.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Legible handwriting and basic math skills.
  • Experience in data entry, keyboarding, and customer service.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and sit for long periods.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Experience communicating with patients and staff.
