About the Position

The University of Denver's Department of Economics is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join our faculty. We are looking for a heterodox economist with expertise in economic development and/or international trade, approached from a feminist perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach five 4-credit-hour courses per academic year, including courses in economic development and/or international trade, and introductory courses in economics.
  • Conduct research and publish in refereed journals, books, and/or monographs.
  • Supervise MA theses and advise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Participate in departmental service and contribute to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • ABD in Economics or a related discipline at the time of application.
  • Teaching experience of at least one academic term teaching college-level economics.
  • Evidence of an emerging research agenda on economic development and/or international trade approached from a feminist perspective.
  • A commitment to promoting DEI and using inclusive pedagogies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Economics completed prior to start date.
  • Experience in teaching economics as the primary instructor at the college level.
  • Evidence of an established research agenda focused on economic development and/or international trade approached from a feminist perspective.
  • Evidence of ability to secure funding/grants for scholarly research.
