Position Overview

As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience by providing essential support in navigating healthcare benefits. This position is integral to ensuring that patients receive the necessary therapy solutions through effective communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive benefit investigations by contacting insurance providers to confirm patient coverage details, overcoming reimbursement challenges, and identifying available resources.
  • Accurately document patient-specific benefits, including coverage options, cost-sharing details, and access to healthcare providers.
  • Identify and communicate any coverage limitations and provide guidance on expediting patient access to necessary services.
  • Initiate and manage the prior authorization process and assist with claims appeals as needed.
  • Monitor and report any trends or delays in reimbursement to management for further action.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in benefit investigation and the ability to analyze and interpret insurance coverage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience liaising with healthcare providers regarding insurance plan requirements.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills and a strong command of grammar.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar systems is preferred.
