Job Summary:

As a Substance Use Counselor with GeorgiaGov, you will work under broad supervision to counsel individuals and groups, promoting optimum mental health and well-being. Your expertise will focus on prevention and behavior modification, helping clients deal with addictions, substance abuse, and related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel individuals and groups to promote mental health and well-being
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address addiction and substance abuse
  • Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive care
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and organizations

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • Four years of related experience
  • One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Hlth Counselor 2 (HCP101) or position equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in a related field
