Job Title: Commercial Loan Officer III

Job Summary:

Centennial Bank is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Loan Officer III to join our team. As a Commercial Loan Officer III, you will be responsible for extending credit within the policies and guidelines set forth in the loan policy. You will ensure that all loan decisions, actions, and recommendations are based on an accurate and thorough understanding of each customer's financial needs and conditions and comply with all laws, regulations, and bank policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview commercial loan applicants and make credit decisions.
  • Examine and evaluate applicants' credit and financial history.
  • Examine/View collateral (if applicable) to determine adequacy.
  • Authorize or recommend approval/denial of applicant.
  • Approve loans within specified limits or refer to appropriate approval level.
  • Prepare loan offering memorandum.
  • Ensure all loan documents are complete, accurate, and in accordance with policy.
  • Closes/Declines loans in a timely manner.
  • Monitor loan portfolio/performance.
  • Correspond with customers.
  • Recommend changes in risk rating.
  • Collect past due loan payments.
  • Develop potential loan markets and loan prospects.
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
  • Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 6 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in general business, finance, economics, or accounting.
  • Five (5) years lending experience.
  • Five (5) years experience with banking, investment, or economic analysis.
  • Two (2) years experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have general computer skills.
  • The ability to communicate using oral and written skills.
