Job Summary

The Baltimore City Public School System is seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team. As an Audiologist - Educational Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing audiological services to assigned schools and students. This is a full-time position that requires a Master's degree in Audiology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer audiological assessments and provide written reports to school personnel and parents.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic and instructional interventions for students with hearing impairments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, IEP team members, and other school personnel to assist in the implementation of instruction of IEP goals and objectives.
  • Provide aural rehabilitation therapy for hearing impaired students.
  • Conduct hearing screenings in conjunction with the Baltimore City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
  • Consult with students, staff, parents, and the community-at-large to assist in developing therapeutic instructional goals and strategies for students.
  • Provide in-service training to City Schools' staff and community.
  • Submit Medicaid reimbursement documentation and maintain case management documentation.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Audiology from an accredited college or institution.
  • Current license in Audiology or eligibility for licensure in Audiology from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Thorough knowledge of child development, individual and group therapeutic interventions as they pertain to children with hearing impairments.
  • Familiarity with federal laws and regulations as they apply to school systems.
  • Excellent skills in audiological assessment to include otoacoustic emissions and verification of FM/hearing aids.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
  • Ability to work well with targeted population students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to use technical computer applications, including the Internet and Microsoft Office applications.
