POSITION TITLE: Banquet Chef

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Chef is responsible for overseeing all facets of food preparation for banquet events, ensuring adherence to the Executive Chef's standards for food costs and quality. This role requires a seasoned culinary leader capable of managing kitchen staff and maintaining high-volume production of exquisite dishes. The Banquet Chef will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and assume all responsibilities in their absence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Craft exceptional dishes that excel in both presentation and flavor.
  • Guarantee that the banquet kitchen operates efficiently, meeting our established quality benchmarks.
  • Step in for the Executive Chef to strategize and oversee food preparation as needed.
  • Proactively address and resolve any challenges that may arise during service.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen personnel, create work schedules, and evaluate team performance.
  • Adhere to and enforce health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a professional and positive atmosphere among colleagues and patrons.

Note: This job description is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a hotel or restaurant setting (preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is essential. Overtime may be necessary.

EDUCATION: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capability to remain on your feet and attentive for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs. as required.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms is necessary.
  • Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting are part of the role.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
