Primary Responsibilities:

  • Debt Recovery:
    • Engage with patients, insurance firms, and other payers to follow up on overdue medical invoices and claims.
    • Facilitate payment plans with patients or their representatives.
    • Detect and rectify any inconsistencies or challenges associated with payments or billing.
  • Billing & Claims Oversight:
    • Examine and process insurance claims to guarantee precise billing and timely payments.
    • Pursue denied or unpaid claims, re-submitting or appealing as required.
    • Ensure that all patient accounts are accurately maintained and current.
  • Client Support:
    • Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding their billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment alternatives.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving patient and payer inquiries and issues swiftly.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Keep precise records of collection efforts, payment agreements, and any communication with patients or payers.
    • Compile and present regular reports to the Billing Supervisor/Manager regarding collection efforts, outstanding debts, and resolved matters.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws related to medical billing and collections, including HIPAA regulations.
    • Ensure that all collection practices adhere to company policies and ethical standards.
