POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Title: Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Department: Front End Operations

Reports To: Customer Service Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:

Strong communication and customer service abilities. Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions. Eagerness to learn various tasks. Proven capability to fulfill the technical aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome all customers and deliver prompt, courteous service and assistance.
  2. Accurately scan and record customer purchases using the cash register.
  3. Identify and differentiate between various types of produce available in the store.
  4. Collect payments in cash or checks from customers and provide correct change as per company policies.
  5. Package merchandise according to established guidelines.
  6. Return items to their proper locations with special attention to perishables.
  7. Gather shopping carts and return them to designated areas.
  8. Provide carryout services following company protocols.
  9. For bottle returns,
    1. Accurately record bottle returns in the cash register to ensure effective service.
    2. Adhere to safety standards while operating bottle crushing equipment.
  10. Meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Deliver outstanding customer service.
  2. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of check-stands and assist in cleaning up spills and breakages.
  4. Present a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  5. Assist with special projects and perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  6. Work within company guidelines to ensure productivity.
  7. Comply with all safety regulations and report any maintenance needs.
  8. Treat all colleagues with respect and fairness.
  9. Conduct accurate price checks as needed.
  10. Monitor usage of store supplies to prevent waste.
  11. Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the store.
  12. For bottle returns, sort returnable bottles according to vendor requirements.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Engage in repetitive motions, including grasping and reaching, while standing for most of the shift.
  2. Handle cash with precision and care.
  3. Lift products weighing up to 15 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  4. Push or pull up to 75 pounds as needed.
  5. Manage various substances related to cleaning and merchandise.
  6. Possess adequate vision to verify identification and documents.
  7. Work in various weather conditions when necessary.
  8. Gather multiple shopping carts and return them to designated areas.
  9. For bottle returns, transport empty bottles to the back room as required.
