We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc, Michigan. As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic sleep studies and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient interviews to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
- Prepare patients and equipment for ordered testing, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
- Monitor patients throughout testing, intervening as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
- Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
- Score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies, providing accurate and timely feedback to patients and healthcare teams.
- Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Collect and report quality assurance and performance improvement data, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead and participate in activities to assure high-quality patient services and adherence to legal and accreditation standards.
- Coordinate and participate in activities related to patient scheduling, billing, and patient experience.
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card.
- One or more of the following certifications: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Registered Sleep Technician (RST), or Registered Respiratory Therapist – Sleep Lab Disorder Specialist (RRT-SDS).
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
- Previous experience working as a polysomnographic technologist is preferred.
