Job Summary:

The Polysomnographic Technologist is accountable for performing and coordinating physiologic studies of sleep and sleep-related disorders. This role provides care to patients via technology, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate equipment and perform all sleep lab procedures.
Perform patient hook-up and machine calibrations according to department policy.
Follow department procedures to ensure accurate data collection.
Routinely score studies and prepare reports for physician analysis and recommendations.
Record observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, to facilitate scoring and interpretation of Polysomnographic results.
Participate in equipment care and maintenance, and identify and report any abnormalities.

Requirements:

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with 2 years experience in sleep diagnostics, or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2 years experience in sleep diagnostics, or Registered EEG Technician with 2 years experience in sleep diagnostics.
Basic MS Office and Windows skills.

Work Environment:

This role requires frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, and the ability to stand for extended periods. The Polysomnographic Technologist must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, and navigate crowded and busy rooms.
