Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to join our team at the Department of Transportation. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for directing subordinate staff in the management and evaluation of activities that support the organization's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance to facilitate the management of various agency information technology-centric projects.
- Manage the work of an organization through subordinates, integrating work of multiple organizations to meet strategic goals and objectives.
- Participate in strategic planning, making commitments for major organizations, and responsible for managing projects and monitoring contractors.
- Supervise program managers, assess program requirement stability, and organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
- Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization, and develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved, and discuss with higher-level management the statuses and results of projects/programs and plan for the future.
- One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (FV-J or FG/GS-14) that is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled.
- Experience in program management principles and techniques to develop new programs and organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
- Knowledge of the National Airspace System (NAS), and Air Traffic Control automation and decision support systems technology and operations.
This position is covered by the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant tentatively selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment or pre-appointment drug screening.
This position is also subject to a background investigation and a one-year probationary period may be required.
