Position Summary:

As a Movement Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the efficient execution of logistics operations in Baledogle, Somalia. This position is responsible for overseeing both air and ground transportation activities, ensuring the effective movement of personnel and cargo within the operational theater.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Air Transportation Management:

  • Supervise daily activities at passenger terminals for various aircraft types.
  • Maintain accurate movement logs, passenger manifests, and cargo documentation.
  • Coordinate with military personnel to communicate essential flight information and regulations.
  • Assist in the scheduling of flights and managing passenger lists.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and ensure adequate supplies at passenger terminals.
  • Provide passengers with critical information regarding flight schedules, safety protocols, and baggage allowances.
  • Ensure passenger clearance for flights, perform roll calls, and assist with boarding procedures.

Ground Transportation Oversight:

  • Manage ground transport operations for various mission types, including line haul and HAZMAT.
  • Keep detailed movement logs and coordinate with military escorts on safety protocols.
  • Assist in the scheduling of ground missions and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform basic maintenance and stock management at transport hubs.
  • Disseminate information regarding transport schedules and safety requirements to customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May oversee the work of employees or subcontractors as directed by management.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in logistics or transportation.
  • Possess the necessary skills and physical capability to perform job functions effectively.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to operate forklifts and K-Loader equipment.
  • Experience with loading and unloading C-130 aircraft.
  • Familiarity with USAF ADACG GATES systems.
  • HAZ-DEC certification is required.
  • Must hold a Secret or higher security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in military or contingency operations is advantageous.
