Position Overview

Columbus Technical College is seeking a dedicated full-time Military Admissions Counselor/Recruiter to join our Student Affairs Department. This role is pivotal in orchestrating and executing recruitment and admissions initiatives tailored for military-affiliated students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee enrollment services specifically designed for military-connected individuals.
  • Design and implement recruitment strategies, including campus tours, distribution of promotional materials, and management of social media platforms.
  • Facilitate recruitment events and services at military installations.
  • Guide prospective students through the admissions and readmissions processes, providing insights into various career pathways.
  • Act as the primary liaison for Military Tuition Assistance and Credential Assistance programs.
  • Assist in the assessment and data entry of academic transcripts from high schools, colleges, and military institutions.
  • Deliver information via phone, written communication, and in-person interactions regarding application processes and admission criteria.
  • Serve as the certifying official for Veterans Education Benefits.
  • Maintain regular office hours at designated educational centers.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to create tailored schedules for military-connected students each semester and expand program offerings as necessary.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of special events and projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Competencies:
  • Proficiency in computer operations and relevant software applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and public engagement.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Organizational proficiency and multitasking ability.
  • Familiarity with financial aid processes.
  • Understanding of course scheduling protocols.
  • Knowledge of student admission requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field *and* a minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience.
  • Note: Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and expertise in Veteran Benefits, Military Tuition Assistance, and Military Credentials Assistance programs.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, and a Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
