Lead Cost Accounting Specialist

The Senior Cost Accountant role is responsible for overseeing the bill of materials for the Stryten Energy Component (SEC) facilities within IQMS. This position entails generating daily production reports for executive review, executing various journal entries throughout the month-end closing activities, conducting the monthly SEC inventory reconciliation, and engaging in other essential functions and analyses related to SEC inventory accounting.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance of the bill of materials (BOM) in IQMS to guarantee accurate inventory costing at SEC facilities.
- Facilitate the annual cost roll and quarterly commercial costing processes.
- Generate daily production reports for management and perform ad hoc analyses as necessary.
- Timely and accurately prepare journal entries during the month-end closing period.
- Reconcile SEC General Ledger inventory accounts with perpetual records and other supporting documents monthly, providing explanations for variances.
- Monitor critical General Ledger accounts daily for discrepancies related to production, receiving, and shipping, while analyzing other accounts monthly as needed.
- Evaluate and adjust the obsolescence reserve on a monthly basis.
- Manage accounting for customer toll accounts effectively.
- Assist with the annual Physical Inventory process as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience with bill of materials and inventory reconciliations.
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in PC applications and analytical tools, including Pivot tables and VLOOKUP in Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work independently.
- Experience with IQMS is a plus.
