Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist

As a Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your responsibilities will include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
About the Role:
- You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for operational and medical issues.
- You will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry and follow guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs.
- You will provide center-level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for guidance on medical or technical issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-P Paramed.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

$23.85 - $32.79The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position.
