Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist

About the Role:
The Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results.
You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician to ensure that all medical procedures are followed in accordance with regulations and SOPs. Your attention to detail and commitment to customer service will make a significant impact on our donors and the community we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
- Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating reactions and following SOPs for medical emergencies
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-P Paramed
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
