Position Summary

The IT Procurement Specialist is integral to the strategic sourcing, monitoring, and detailed reporting of the organization’s IT resources, which include both hardware and software components. The role focuses on reducing costs by eliminating unnecessary investments in IT assets. This is accomplished through vigilant tracking of asset usage and effective negotiations with suppliers and vendors. A proven track record of enhancing and implementing innovative asset management and procurement practices is crucial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily requests for IT hardware/software and issue Purchase Orders as necessary.
  • Employ tools and systems for effective communication and collaboration while maintaining exceptional organization.
  • Ensure all ordered items are received as per specifications.
  • Gather quotes, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with vendors.
  • Monitor software and hardware assets along with their licensing.
  • Plan the lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal.
  • Manage current vendor relationships to guarantee competitive pricing and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Implement cost-saving measures through efficient asset management strategies.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, ensuring new hires receive the necessary IT assets for their roles.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requirements.
  • Resolve supplier issues and mediate disputes as they arise.
  • Establish new connections with key technology vendors while adhering to sourcing policies and procedures.
Experience Requirements
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in IT Procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and services.
  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and databases.
Technical Skills
  • Frequent use of MS Windows 11, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook is required. Experience with Hardware and Software Asset Management tools and applications is also necessary.
Work Environment

This position requires the flexibility to fulfill daily and weekly responsibilities effectively. The work environment is indoors within a climate-controlled office.
