About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Design Engineer to join our Effectors Systems Design & Architecture organization in Tucson, AZ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and partnering with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain in-depth technical knowledge of the assigned Effectors subsystem
  • Perform requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems, and develop the requirements traceability verification matrix
  • Establish the approach and implement the subsystem design and architecture, following established standards and procedures
  • Own interface requirements for a given system or subsystem
  • Apply knowledge of the subsystem and collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to develop and maintain subsystem requirements
  • Interact with Technical SMEs as necessary to fully understand the subsystem, including identifying and resolving issues and supporting related subsystem trades or analysis
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members, depending on level of experience
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Experience in one or more of the following: requirements definition, decomposition, specification writing, and/or maintenance with cross-disciplined Engineering teams
  • Experience with internal and external interface design of digital, electrical, and/or mechanical subsystems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with implementing architecture and designs with Model Based Systems Engineering tools
  • Experience in missile systems design, integration, test, or flight demonstration
  • Experience with DOORS
  • Experience with SysML, DoDAF, WOSA, MOSA, or GRA
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Experience managing or guiding teams working architecture and design
  • Experience using Agile framework development methods and processes
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret or above level Security Clearance
