Job Title: Principal Systems Design Engineer

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Systems Design and Architecture organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and partnering with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

Job Summary:

The Principal Systems Design Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the design, integration, and build of our systems meet the needs of our warfighters. You will be responsible for obtaining in-depth technical knowledge of the Effectors subsystem, performing requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems, and developing the requirements traceability verification matrix.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain in-depth technical knowledge of the Effectors subsystem
  • Perform requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems
  • Develop the requirements traceability verification matrix
  • Establish the approach and implement the subsystem design and architecture
  • Own interface requirements for a given system or subsystem
  • Apply knowledge of the subsystem and collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to develop and maintain the subsystem requirements
  • Interact with Technical SMEs as necessary to fully understand the subsystem
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Experience in requirements definition, decomposition, specification writing, and/or maintenance with cross-disciplined Engineering teams
  • Experience with internal and external interface design of digital, electrical, and/or mechanical subsystems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with implementing architecture and designs with Model Based Systems Engineering tools
  • Experience in missile systems design, integration, test, or flight demonstration
  • Experience with DOORS
  • Experience with SysML, DoDAF, WOSA, MOSA, or GRA
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Experience managing or guiding teams working architecture and design
  • Experience using Agile framework development methods and processes
