About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Design Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. As a key member of our Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and partnering with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain in-depth technical knowledge of assigned Effectors subsystems
  • Perform requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems, and develop requirements traceability verification matrices
  • Establish approaches and implement subsystem designs and architectures, adhering to established standards and procedures
  • Own interface requirements for given systems or subsystems
  • Apply knowledge of subsystems and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and maintain subsystem requirements
  • Interact with technical SMEs to fully understand subsystems, identify and resolve issues, and support related subsystem trades or analysis
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to team members, depending on level of experience
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree and five (5) years of engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in missile systems design, integration, test, or flight demonstration
  • Experience capturing and maintaining system requirements
  • Experience managing or guiding teams addressing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes
  • Experience with DOORS, SysML, DoDAF, WOSA, MOSA, or GRA
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler and implementing architecture and designs with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools
  • Experience managing or guiding teams working on architecture and design
  • Experience performing design or requirements development with cross-disciplined engineering teams
  • Experience using Agile framework development methods and processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience developing internal and external interface designs and documenting them in specifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Active Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense)
