Role: Registered Nurse – Residential Substance Use Management

Job Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse (RN) operates under the guidance of the Nurse Manager for residential substance use management, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality medical and nursing care. The RN conducts nursing assessments to communicate client needs to medical providers and offers education to assist clients in achieving their treatment objectives. This role reports directly to the Nursing Manager.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting assessments during the admission process and throughout the client's stay.
  • Implementing orders from medical providers, including medication administration and assessments, while documenting all care in the electronic client record (ECR).
  • Performing point-of-care testing, including obtaining urine specimens and coordinating lab transport as necessary.
  • Providing individual and family counseling sessions.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of educational programs on medical topics.
  • Supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in the provision of nursing care.
  • Administering medications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Responding to crisis situations with appropriate assessment and intervention.
  • Completing required clinical documentation.
  • Ensuring comprehensive client care by supporting the interdisciplinary team, including coordinating with external providers and discharge planning.
  • Adhering to all federal and state regulations and accreditation standards in nursing practice.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with support networks, government resources, and community organizations.
  • Creating a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment for clients.
  • Completing all mandatory training and continuing education required for licensure.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health nursing.
  • Familiarity with psychiatric medications, their uses, common side effects, and potential interactions.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and applicable standards for clinical practice in assigned areas.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Successful completion of BCI check, corporate compliance checks, and employment drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in psychiatric or addiction nursing is preferred.

Work Schedule:

We are hiring for the following shifts:

  • Day and Night Shifts: Sunday - Thursday, every other Wednesday
  • Day and Night Shifts: Thursday - Saturday, every other Wednesday
