Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves executing a range of engineering tasks focused on the design and implementation of PLC-controlled systems for production machinery. The engineer will also be responsible for creating and installing electrical and electronic designs for both new and existing machinery, alongside providing ongoing support for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and enhance control systems for manufacturing equipment: 45%
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment issues utilizing standardized root cause analysis methods: 25%
  • Assist in manufacturing plant value analysis and engineering initiatives: 15%
  • Offer mentorship and support to fellow team members: 5%
  • Conduct training sessions, create schematics, deliver presentations, and manage projects: 5%
  • Perform additional tasks as required: 5%
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of control systems, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and programming for factory equipment
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in high-volume, precision assembly environments
  • Proficiency in computer systems and spreadsheet applications necessary for job functions
  • Strong mechanical skills
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing context
  • Advanced skills in PLC programming, robotic systems (Fanuc, Motoman, Yamaha, Mitsubishi), and software tools such as LabVIEW and Visual Basic

Supervisory Duties
  • No direct reports
  • Provide guidance to other engineers, interns, and technical staff
Software Proficiency
  • Familiarity with AB PLC, Mitsubishi PLC, Fanuc, IAI, and Motoman Robots, as well as software like Keyence Vision, Excel, LabVIEW, and Visual Basic
  • Intermediate skills in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Preferred experience with AutoCAD and CATIA

  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Physical stamina for standing, walking, and bending throughout the workday
  • Capability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds
