Role Summary:
The Financial Controller Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Controller by aiding in the preparation of reports, cost allocations, audit preparations, inventory management, payroll processing, and other essential financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports;
- Support cost allocation processes;
- Facilitate audit preparations;
- Prepare reconciliations for bank statements;
- Provide backup for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy;
- Handle necessary documentation and follow-ups related to workers' compensation claims;
- Oversee the management of electronic inventory, collaborating with the IT department on software issues;
- Implement inventory control measures and coordinate physical counts for reporting;
- Process invoices and assist in accounts payable tasks;
- Manage general ledger postings and adjustments within accounting software;
- Handle bank deposits;
- Coordinate repair and maintenance needs for regional offices;
- Organize office setups and relocations;
- Input and manage budgets within the automated case management system;
- Prepare payroll and wire transfer information;
- Attend Workforce Board Meetings as needed;
- Collaborate with management in the absence of the Controller;
- Utilize financial and Microsoft Office software daily;
- Assist with E-Verify documentation;
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Working Environment:
The position operates on a standard schedule with potential flexibility as approved by the Supervisor. Most work is conducted in an office setting, with occasional travel required for meetings or training.
Qualifications:
A degree in Accounting or Business is preferred, along with at least one year of relevant accounting experience. Proficiency in both electronic and manual bookkeeping, familiarity with payroll regulations, and strong keyboarding and math skills are essential.
Communication Skills:
Effective written communication skills are vital for report preparation and interaction with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
