Job Title: Data and Evaluation Specialist

Are you passionate about research and data collection? We're seeking a highly skilled Data and Evaluation Specialist to join our education team at the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Job Summary

The Data and Evaluation Specialist will contribute to managing program and faculty data for CSWE, supporting our teams in evaluating grant initiatives, professional development opportunities, and all areas of CSWE Division of Education. This role will be the 'go-to' person supporting staff and members in using CSWE data to advance social work education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the clearinghouse for all data about our membership, including programs, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Plan, implement, and report on the CSWE Annual Program Survey, including enrollment trends, graduate outcomes, and other relevant data.
  • Evaluate grants-based and professional development initiatives in the Division of Education, including contributing to the development of SMARTIE program goals and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards on social work programs and CSWE individual members, including faculty, students, and staff.
  • Consult and work with internal departments on program evaluation and assessment to determine implications and recommend modifications to improve program effectiveness.
  • Evaluate trends in social work education to provide data-informed recommendations for the development of new professional development initiatives.
  • Work with Communications and Membership team to develop content for marketing channels, including print collateral, email, website, and more.
  • Monitor literature on all social work education topics and evaluation practices.
  • Manage research and evaluation projects from inception to dissemination, including gathering, cleaning, managing, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Disseminate information on social work education generated from annual surveys, evaluations, and assessments, including reports, presentations, and manuscripts or other written materials approved by CSWE.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders to manage, design, and implement research projects and initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison for CSWE commissions and councils.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree required; Master of Social Work (MSW), Doctor of Social Work (DSW), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Work preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of evaluation experience required.
  • Experience developing databases and/or dashboards required.
  • Demonstrate and support a culture of scholarship in topic areas in social work education and practice embedded in antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion required.
  • In-depth understanding of all phases of research required.
  • Experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research and developing survey instruments required.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques and tools (e.g., Nvivo, SPSS, relational databases, Excel) required.
  • Experience with an online survey system (e.g., Qualtrics) and with software/online systems for creating graphical display of information preferred.
  • Ability to meet set timelines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and perform responsibilities independently and on time.
  • Strong communication skills, including exemplary writing skills to produce reports for executive and academic audiences.
  • Effective use of infographics and visuals to communicate ideas and information.
  • Some evening/weekend work and ability to travel minimum of 2 times per year for CSWE duties.
  • Understanding and familiarity with IRB is a plus.
