Position Overview

Branch Civil is seeking motivated Interns to participate in our Summer Internship program. We are looking for ambitious college students who are currently pursuing degrees in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields. This program is structured to foster a supportive learning atmosphere where interns can cultivate essential skills and attributes vital for a successful career in the construction sector. We value integrity and professionalism in our candidates, as our work is not only about the tasks at hand but also about the manner in which we conduct ourselves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interns will engage in meaningful responsibilities within the Preconstruction, Project Management, and/or Field Supervision teams, receiving the necessary training, support, and mentorship to enhance their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Assist in cost estimation, scheduling, material procurement, cost management, and quality assurance.
  • At the conclusion of the internship, interns will prepare a presentation summarizing their experiences at Branch Civil.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols, determining appropriate actions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a college program focused on Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Exhibit a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues, clients, and the public.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in analytical and computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel as required; a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Show a passion for making a positive impact in the industry.

Travel Requirements

Interns may be required to make periodic visits to job sites and offices as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While fulfilling the duties of this position, the intern is regularly required to communicate effectively. The intern frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, and reach with arms. Occasionally, the intern may need to sit, climb, balance, or perform tasks that require bending or kneeling. The intern must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule

This internship is a full-time position, typically requiring 40+ hours per week.
