About the Role

As a Licensed Tech Inpatient at Carilion Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care on our 28-bed unit, which specializes in Trauma/Neurosurgery, Urology, and General Surgery. You will work closely with our experienced nursing team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer nursing care under the direction of the RN, focusing on patient safety and well-being.
  • Partner with the RN to collect data, plan, and implement patient care, promoting a seamless patient experience.
  • Assist with throughput initiatives, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our unit.
  • Participate in unit-based council activities and initiatives, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Obtain and validate medication reconciliation on admission and discharge, ensuring accurate patient information.
  • Assist with wound care, safe patient ambulation, and other essential patient care activities.
  • Mentor Nurse Assistants and actively participate in precepting new staff members.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school, either for practical nursing.
  • Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
  • Licensed to practice nursing LPN in the state of Virginia.
  • AHS BLS-HCP certification required; AHA BLS certification may be required based on specific work unit.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Registered Nurse program within 15 months of hire, strongly recommended.
