Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will provide technical support to clinicians and students, assisting with patient care and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled veterinary technical support to clinicians and students
  • Assist with patient care, including maintaining daily patient records and recording procedures
  • Use electronic medical records system to accurately reflect patient charges and medical records
  • May order, track, and maintain supplies of pharmaceuticals and consumable inventory
  • May teach/lead students in the professional degree program
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited school of veterinary technology or equivalent education and experience
  • Licensed as a Veterinary Technician in the State of Washington within six months of hire
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Graduation from an AVMA-accredited school in veterinary technology
    • Graduation from a two-year curriculum in animal health or veterinary technology with 36 months of full-time experience
    • Licensure as a veterinary technician in another state with 36 months of full-time experience
    • DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience training and teaching students, interns, and residents in specialty practice or hospital, or in academic practice
Additional Information

This recruitment is approved for a referral incentive for eligible WSU employees. Relocation compensation can be negotiated at the time of hire in accordance with WSU Business Policies and Procedures Manual 55.
