Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will provide high-quality patient care, assist clinicians and students, and maintain accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled veterinary technical support, including patient care, record-keeping, and procedure assistance.
  • Assist clinicians and fourth-year students in all aspects of patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic medical records systems.
  • Order, track, and maintain supplies of pharmaceuticals and consumable inventory.
  • Teach and lead students in the professional degree program.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited school of veterinary technology or equivalent education and experience.
  • Licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the State of Washington within six months of hire.
  • Meet the required criteria to be eligible to sit for the Washington State veterinary technician exam and pass the exam the first time it is available.
  • Pass WSU radiation safety training exam the first time it is available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience training and teaching students, interns, and residents in specialty practice or hospital, or in academic practice.
