Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team at The Old 77 Hotel and Chandlery. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing the front-of-house operations, and ensuring that every guest has a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they enter the hotel and show them to their table or waiting area.
- Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions.
- Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas, taking into account table rotation and server assignments.
- Engage with guests to ensure they are happy with their food and service.
- Respond to complaints and help to resolve them.
- Answer phone calls, take reservations, and answer questions.
- Have a knowledge of the menu and be able to make recommendations.
- Help out with other positions in the hotel as needed.
- Provide great customer service and ensure that every guest has a positive experience.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all hotel staff.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Ability to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
- Willingness to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
- Ability to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to work in a busy hotel environment.
- Restaurant experience a plus.
