Restart Services: Family Support Worker Job DescriptionAbout the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Support Worker to join our team at Restart Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive services to families in need, with a focus on preventing out-of-home placements of children and reuniting families after foster care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients to implement recommendations from various stakeholders, including the Department of Human Services, Community Services Board, and Court Services.
  • Attend regular meetings with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and goal achievement.
  • Provide coaching and modeling to strengthen clients' parenting skills, while facilitating therapeutic supervised/monitored visitations when necessary.
  • Assist clients in adhering to their Family Intervention Plan (FIP) goals, linking them to applicable community-based services as needed.
  • Offer transportation and remain flexible to address crisis situations, working approximately 5-10 hours per week per case.
Work Environment:

The Family Support Worker will spend most of their workweek in the community visiting with families, providing case coordination, goal setting, linkage to services, advocacy, education, and evaluation. This may include interactions with local authorities, schools, employers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology).
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with at-risk populations, or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
  • A calm demeanor under pressure, with empathy and active listening skills to develop positive relationships with clients.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
