Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Docket Coordinator to join our team in Hampton, VA. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $61,182 and excellent benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, Paid Time Off, Employee Discounts, and Virginia Retirement System (VRS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a dedicated team of Behavioral Health Docket Case Managers and Therapists.
  • Conduct assessments, therapy sessions, and manage the daily provision of client services.
  • Attend weekly court status hearings, prepare written reports, and advocate for participants within the criminal justice system and treatment community.

By linking individuals to essential resources, entitlements, and community services, you will assist in their reintegration and recovery journey. This role emphasizes program analysis, effective communication with families, and public outreach to destigmatize mental health treatment.

Requirements:
  • A Master's Degree in a Human Services field such as Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and tools.
  • Registration with the Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult (QMHP-A) or ability to register as a QMHP-A trainee within 30 days of employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test, and employment reference checks.
