Fleet Mechanic Position

Parking Lot Painting Company (PLP Co.) is a leading specialty contractor involved in the installation and removal of pavement markings. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and services in a timely manner.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and fix a variety of vehicle & equipment issues. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including construction equipment of various types and sizes.
  • Provide emergency assistance for vehicles that have broken down, including repairs and towing coordination if necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance following OEM specifications, as well as electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition and properly maintained.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning when used.
  • Occasionally fabricate, weld, and cut parts using arc-welding/wire feed and flame cutting equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform DOT inspections.
  • Perform related and other duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience as a mechanic.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Strong ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a CDL license is preferred.
  • Must have a good driving record with no major violations within the last 5 years or be accepted by the company insurance policy provider to drive PLP company vehicles.
