Manufacturing Process Engineer

At Quest Global, we're seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering team, you will be responsible for creating and modifying work instructions, developing process operation and assembly sheets, and ensuring the integration of GD&T within our production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team and shop floor to develop and modify work instructions for welding, fabrication, and machining operations.
- Design, produce, and modify process operation and assembly sheets, with a preference for Solumina.
- Apply knowledge of GD&T to integrate within a production process.
- Interpret B/P requirements and ensure specifications are met.
- Develop a working knowledge of 3D modeling, preferably using NX.
- Stay up-to-date with basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques.
- Participate in aluminum and steel brazing, welding, and machining operations.
- Gain understanding of Heat Exchanger manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain requirements for fixtures, tools, and gages.
- Support supplier questions about fixtures and part requirements.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks while following the approval process for authoring operation sheets.
- Identify areas for improved product manufacturability, reduced product cost, or improved product reliability.
- Communicate technical subject matter effectively, both written and verbally.
- Respond effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Develop problem-solving skills to address production-related challenges.
- Apply RCCA methodology to drive down product nonconformance.
- Rationalize and implement inspection methods and techniques.
- Apply project management skills to follow up on tasks daily.
- Develop presentations based on process data and results to show opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of various tools, gages, and fixtures.
- Proficient in blueprint reading.
- Proficient in GD&T and generating operation sheets.
- Experience with AS9100 and basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques.
- Participation in aluminum and steel brazing, welding, and machining operations.
- Competency with machines and tools required to fabricate and manufacture Sheet Metal.
- Knowledge of processes for cutting, bending, assembling, and welding sheet metal parts, tools, or components.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to create clear and concise work instructions (Solumina).
- Familiarity with Teamcenter and NX preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated to ensure accountability, disciplined to improve processes, passionate about engineering, and organized to track many work streams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Organized with the ability to multi-task while driving actions to completion.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
Work Environment:
- Heavily regulated industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM.
- Weekend shift days: Saturday & Sunday.
- Flexibility in workday/weekends to meet customer production schedule.
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Problem-solving ability to address document-related challenges.
- Ability to work in shop floor and office environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
