JOB DESCRIPTION

Spur Design is seeking a Junior Architectural Technician with 0-2 years of experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. The successful candidate will ideally hold an associate's degree in drafting from a recognized technical institution or community college. Proficiency in REVIT and other relevant industry software is essential, along with strong creative design capabilities, effective time management, and excellent communication skills. This role will involve contributing to a variety of project types, aiding in the establishment of drafting standards, and ensuring the delivery of well-coordinated Construction Documents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Support various project types within Spur Design, including the setup, development, and detailing of AutoCAD/BIM projects.
  • Assist in formulating internal drafting standards under the guidance of Architectural Designers.
  • Collaborate with the Project Architect or other Designers to prepare and finalize fully coordinated Construction Documents that adhere to all project specifications and code requirements.
  • Daily responsibilities will encompass but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the Project Architect or Architectural Designers in coordinating with sub-consultants at all levels of production and drawing integration.
  • Ensuring adherence to Spur Design's drafting standards and maintaining quality control.
  • Managing multiple tasks across different projects while prioritizing deadlines and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Entry-level position focused on drafting architectural drawings and details.
  • 0-2 years of experience with BIM software programs.
  • Preferred: Associate degree in drafting from a technical school or community college.
  • Proficient in REVIT and other industry-standard software.
  • Demonstrated creative design skills and the ability to devise unique solutions to challenges.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight schedules.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration between the architectural team and consultants.

BENEFITS

  • 15-25 days of accrued personal time off (PTO) based on tenure in the profession.

  • Short-term Disability (STD) and Long-term Disability (LTD) are provided at no cost, covering up to 60% of annual base salary.
  • Life insurance coverage up to $100,000 or 2x annual base salary (whichever is less) is provided at no cost.
  • Health Insurance with the employer covering 100% of employee premiums and 50% of family premiums.
  • Dental Insurance with the employer covering 100% of employee premiums and 50% of family premiums.
  • Vision Insurance with the employer covering 100% of employee premiums and 50% of family premiums.
  • Retirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution. This plan is a 'safe harbor' eligible plan, eliminating any vesting period beyond initial eligibility requirements.
  • Spur Design also provides reimbursement for training and professional organization dues or fees with prior approval from ownership.
